Bayer Leverkusen chief Rudi Voeller hopes for a final decision from Tranquillo Barnetta in the coming days.

The Switzerland winger is a target for Newcastle United and Aston Villa as he comes off contract next month.

"To me, Barnetta was the man of the match [of Switzerland's victory over Germany] hands down. He's one of our most valuable assets," Voeller told Bild.

"The door is open for him to stay. You can expect a decision this week."
