Sebastien Bassong admits his first season at Tottenham couldn't have gone better.

The Cameroon defender arrived last summer from relegated Newcastle United and now has the World Cup to look forward to, plus Tottenham's Champions League and FA Cup bids.

"This is why football is so fantastic," Bassong told the club's website. "Everything can change so quickly, the ups and the downs.

"At the moment, everything is going right for me. Last season I was fighting against relegation now I'm fighting for fourth place in the table and the FA Cup. In the summer, I might go to the World Cup.

"Everything is fine. I enjoy it so much at Tottenham and I just hope everything keeps going like this."
