New Tottenham signing Sebastien Bassong jumped at the chance to swap Newcastle for White Hart Lane. The 23-year-old told Sky Sports News of his £8m move: "Yes, there was other interest. But when I knew the interest of Tottenham, my choice was made.

"Tottenham have a good squad, good manager and a good reputation.

"When the manager came to Tottenham last year he did a good job.
