Chris Basham hopes to keep his Bolton Wanderers place for their clash with Aston Villa.

The midfielder made his first start of the season in the 4-0 defeat against Chelsea at the weekend.

"I've been coming on over the last few weeks and the manager said that I have been doing well," he told the Bolton News. "On Saturday he wanted me to man-mark whoever was on my side of the pitch, and I thought that I did that.

"I was delighted to get my first start of the season and hopefully I'll get a few more."
