Palermo defender Andrea Barzagli admits the players have been hurt by the dismissal of Francesco Guidolin.

"The whole squad was very close to Guidolin, just as we are to Colantuono," Barzagli explained. "It has been a disappointing year, but it is mostly our fault as players.

"It's not always best to change Coach, but it is the President who should decide where his money goes.

"I hope that the change will give us a boost because we are struggling and we need to pick up some points quickly to get away from the relegation zone."
