Joey Barton is ready to discuss new deal at Newcastle United.
The Daily Mail says Barton has invited Newcastle to resume talks over his future after Alan Pardew declared his intent to keep the midfielder at St James' Park.
Barton's agent Willie McKay said: "Joey is happy at Newcastle and would be happy to talk. We're not a million miles apart, it's about the length of the deal.
"He wants to get back into the England squad and believes he can do that with Newcastle but his form has attracted a lot of interest."
