Barton insists QPR boo-boys "won't break me"

QPR skipper Joey Barton says he won't be run out of Loftus Road after being booed by his own fans last night.

During victory over Liverpool, Barton was substituted for Jamie Mackie after 62 minutes, with his side 2-0 down.

Barton tweeted after the game: "Disappointed with fans booing, we're meant to be in it together. They won't break me, guaranteed. I've been through much worse."

But the midfielder admitted his performance was not one to be was proud of.

He wrote: "I was awful tonight. Worst I've ever played in my career. But we won... and that's the most important thing. Onwards and upwards." He later fired another message at his critics, adding: "Form is temporary, class is permanent."
