There's concerns Joey Barton and Jose Enrique are having second thoughts about signing a new contract with Newcastle United.
The Journal says several players have already privately expressed their frustration at the sale of Andy Carroll to Liverpool and it is interesting to note that neither Barton nor Enríque have signed their new contracts yet.
Barton was supposed to be putting pen to paper this week before the Carroll saga unfolded and the United hierarchy can only hope his departure has not prompted the former Manchester City midfielder to change his mind.
Worryingly for the Magpies, negotiations with Enríque have not even begun and there is a real risk a player who will be out of contract in less than 18 months will look to move on in the summer rather than sign another deal at St James' Park.
