Everton midfielder Gareth Barry is backing teammate Ross Barkley to make England's World Cup squad.
Barry has played a big role in elevating Barkley's profile this season.
Everton's on-loan Manchester City midfielder said: "I haven't been involved with England for 18 months, so I'm not worrying too much about the World Cup, from a personal point of view. But Ross, for me, should be absolutely nailed on to be on that plane.
"If he keeps playing the way he has, then I'm sure he will be. In fact, he could well go out there and surprise a lot of teams, because he's got that natural ability and self-belief to make the most of it.
"He has just grown in confidence as the season has gone on, and working with this manager (Roberto Martinez) is only going to help him become even more confident and improve his game.
"He is already so strong and quick, and the more he learns about the game in general and his positional play, the better he is going to get.
"He has so much natural ability, and I am certain there is even more to come."
