Barnsley wait for Villa keeper Sorensen

Barnsley are set to snap up Aston Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen.

When Sorensen returns from Villa's Spanish break this week, there is a chance he could find himself called into action by Barnsley, who go to Anfield for a fifth-round FA Cup tie with Liverpool on Saturday.

Oakwell boss Simon Davey has seen the rumours linking Sorensen with a move to South Yorkshire but was giving nothing away today.

"I'm not going to confirm or deny anything," said Davey. "We're looking at a lot of keepers and will see everybody who's available.

"I'm sure we'll get the person we want in for the game," he said.

Barnsley need a goalkeeper because first choice Heinz Muller is injured and Tony Warner, who they have on loan from Fulham, is cup-tied.
