Barnsley boss Simon Davey is eager to hold onto Derby County defender Lewin Nyatanga.

"That's another thing we have to look at in January," Davey told the club's official website. "When I spoke with Billy Davies back in the summer he was only prepared to let Lewin out for six months, although we wanted him for the season.

"Who knows what the situation will be in January and there is always the chance that Derby could want him back with them.

"We'll have to wait until January, but I'd be very happy if Lewin stayed with us until the end of the season."
