Barnsley are chasing Bolton Wanderers defender Danny Shittu.

The Sun says Shittu will be offered a way out of Bolton by Barnsley.

Tykes boss Mark Robins needs to bolster his defence and is to launch a £1million swoop for the Trotters misfit in January.

Shittu, 29, has made just 12 appearances since moving from Watford for £2m in August 2008.
