Barnsley are to lose on-loan pair Jon Macken and Lewin Nyatanga back to Derby County.

Welsh international defender Nyatanga and Republic of Ireland international striker Macken are currently on loan at Oakwell until New Year's Day and manager Simon Davey is keen to keep both players.

But Derby manager Paul Jewell revealed: "We will be bringing Lewin back and I want to give every player the opportunity to show me they are good enough to be here.

"Things can change very quickly in football, but I would like them all back to have a good look at them."
