Barnsley have welcome the arrival of Manchester United midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe on-loan.

Tunnicliffe has played twice for United in the Capital One Cup, featuring in the club's thrilling 5-4 defeat to Chelsea earlier this season.

"David's been waiting for Sir Alex Ferguson to give him permission to get Ryan - and now that's come through we've got him for 28 days," Reds director Don Rowing told The Star.

"I'm sure he'll be a very good player; most of these young players at Manchester United are."
