Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom admits he wants to sign Liverpool winger Ryan Kent.

The 19-year-old impressed while on loan at Coventry during the first half of last season and was recalled to Anfield by Jurgen Klopp in January.

Heckingbottom hopes to persuade Liverpool to allow Kent to join the Championship new comers next season for more experience.

“He is a good player and he did well against us last season," he told the Barnsley Chronicle.

"He certainly fits into the bracket of player that we are after."
