Barnsley boss Flitcroft: Crystal Palace's Jedinak and co. good enough for Premier League

Barnsley manager David Flitcroft suggests Crystal Palace are a good enough side to gain promotion to the Premier League.

Australian midfielder Mile Jedinak captained the Eagles in their 0-0 draw with Barnsley at Selhurst Park on Saturday and Tykes boss Flitcroft was thrilled with the performance of his players against a group on the verge of England's top flight.

"Let's not kid ourselves here, this (Crystal Palace) team we've come up against have aspirations of getting in the Premier League," said Flitcroft after the Championship clash.

"They've got Premier League players in the making and with Glenn Murray, Wilfried Zaha, Yannick Bolasie, Mile Jedinak and the boy Jonathan Williams, who I love.

"They are a top class Championship team who have not been able to score against a resilient Barnsley team.

"Concentration and focus was the key. You've got to stay focused because if you switch off once you'll get punished."

Ian Holloway's Palace side currently sits fourth on the second tier table and are six points ahead of those sides outside the promotion playoff positions whilst Barnsley are situated 20th, a point above the drop zone.
