Newcastle United will have to cough up to land Bayer Leverkusen winger Tranquillo Barnetta.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has tracked Barnetta for much of his 18 months in charge but had to put his plans on ice after the midfielder suffered a serious knee injury.

Barnetta is back to full fitness and looking for a new club after calling time on his eight-year Leverkusen career after they were unable to meet his £35,000.
