Barnet player-boss Edgar Davids helped fans organise a lift home after defeat at Accrington Stanley.
The Daily Mail says the 36 hardy Barnet fans left stranded by the motorway in the wet and cold needed a saviour - and Davids obliged.
He ordered the driver of the team bus to pull in at the next service station and the players to disembark.
The coach was then dispatched back up the M6 to collect the shivering supporters and bring them to the services, where Davids brought them coffee while they waited for a replacement coach.
