Barnet 'Hollywood' as Davids, John check in

Barnet fans can't believe their past week.

Not only has former Tottenham, Ajax and Barcelona star Edgar Davids joined the coaching staff, but they've also signed ex-Fulham striker Collins John.

Given that Barnet are five points adrift at the bottom of the table and without a win from their opening 11 games, they need the 26-year-old to hit the ground running, starting with tomorrow's match at home to Plymouth.

"We have to start putting points on the board and I think Collins will give us all a big lift," said Mark Robson, who is now joint manager following the arrival of Davids. "I'm just glad he's available now and that the waiting is over because he is a good character and has been lively around the training ground.

"I remember from his time at Fulham that he was very good goalscorer and a thorn in the defence of a lot of Premier League sides. It has been an extremely long two weeks waiting for his clearance and we're all relieved another piece of the jigsaw is in place. He knows where the goal is and every side needs a player like that. I know he will benefit and help us so we are looking forward to finally getting him involved."
