Barkley, McAleny impressing Everton management

Everton No2 Steve Round says their younger players will benefit from their tour of the USA.

Round has been keeping a close eye on the younger members of the squad and revealed that the overseas tour provides an excellent opportunity to hone their development both on and off the field.

He told evertontv: "The manager might decide to start one or two (against DC). We are quite pleased with the way the likes of Conor McAleny and Ross Barkley are coming on.

"There are many things they need to learn. They need to learn how to conduct themselves and there are some great role models here.

"They also need to know how to deal with being on tour and the different styles of play you come up against.

"It was important for Ross, Conor and Tolis to get on the other night and Ross actually made a couple of mistakes through inexperience. From a coaching point that is vital because you can teach him and he will learn and next time be better because of it."
