Bari coach Giampiero Ventura paid tribute to Antonio Cassano before last night's 2-1 win over Sampdoria.

The former Bari star managed to score Samp's goal in the defeat.

"I hope Antonio's feelings get to him and the reception of our fans moves him," Ventura explained.

"That can be the true cage for Cassano.

"Antonio is one of the greatest talents that our football has expressed. He is never boring and a source of authentic footballing entertainment.

"It's a shame that he has thrown away part of his career.

"Personally, I am united with the Bari fans in giving him the sincerest of welcomes home."
