Beppe Baresi was delighted with Inter Milan's 2-0 victory at Catania last night.
"I am proud to have been the Coach of this side today," said the assistant manager who filled in during Jose Mourinho's touchline ban.
"They played an extraordinary game, a real old-style Inter performance. We took the lead, held the reins even if we went down to 10 men and won.
"This confirms the unity of the squad, who are willing to suffer in the difficult moments. If the others lose ground, then that just makes us even happier."
Sulley Muntari saw red and Baresi continued: "Muntari's red card was not even a foul! He was sent off simply because his name is Muntari.
"Ibrahimovic proved he is a great champion tonight," continued Baresi. "Not only does he have remarkable technique, but he has really become a leader, working for the team in the crucial moments.
"We also had confirmation of Davide Santon's character, as it's not easy to play in a stadium with this passion. He worked like one of the old guard."
