AC Milan legend Franco Baresi admits the current team is only mid-table standard. Baresi hopes coach Clarence Seedorf can improve things.
"We know that this year is a one off," Baresi said.
"There are lots of factors that have to be taken into account and the team has not been able to express itself well.
"This Milan team deserves to be where it is and the club had to react by changing Coach.
"Seedorf has ideas so we need to wait until he can put them into practice out on the field.
"The team now needs to be prepared for the Champions League where nothing is a given, and they must also finish the season in better shape.
"In the future the club will take action to make the team more competitive."
