Sunderland defender Phil Bardsley admits their draw against Tottenham is a setback.
The Black Cats had to settle for a point after Kieran Richardson's early goal was cancelled out in the 89th minute by Robbie Keane.
"We weren't switched on and we got punished," said Bardsley, making his 50th career Premier League appearance, on SAFC-TV.
"We should have played the corner short but we didn't and we got punished. There are no excuses - you have to be switched on all the time.
"It's still a point but it's hard to take because it should have been three, we were so close."
