Barcelona fullback Gianluca Zambrotta was targeted by the Nou Camp boo-boys during last night's 5-1 victory over Levante.
It was Zambrotta who conceded the penalty for Mustapha Riga's lone goal for Levante and despite the scoreline, the Italian was booed and whistled when he came close to the ball.
The Italy defender said: "To suffer a hand-ball during a game is going to happen from time to time. Obviously, I didn't want to do it.
"The fans are free to do what they want. The whistles do not bother me.
"I thank Xavi and Carles Puyol for asking the fans not to boo me. It is important as a team that you can rely on people to make such efforts."
