Barcelona ace Lionel Messi insists he welcomes the appointment of Diego Maradona as new Argentina coach.

Maradona branded Messi as "selfish" earlier this year in his play for Argentina, but the 20 year-old says: "It's worth nothing. I think that when he says something about me or another player it is to improve us.

"I have no problem with him nor did his words bother me. My relationship with Maradona has been good since I started playing."
