Former Inter Milan fullback Maxwell rates Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola ahead of Jose Mourinho.

"My last few months at Inter were pretty strange. I got the message and realised it was time to move on," the ex-Ajax full-back explained to Sport magazine.

"Guardiola is a great man. He always explains to me what he wants and his manners are really calm and polite.

"It is much better to have this type of Coach than one who doesn't say anything to you," said Maxwell.

"Furthermore, he stays close to the players, much more than Mourinho does. Maybe it is because he only recently stopped playing football."
