Barcelona's Eto'o may've contributed to new injury

Barca doctors do not expect Eto'o to touch a ball for the next three months after the Cameroon international underwent surgery over the weekend.

Meanwhile, sources have told AS that Eto'o's eagerness to bounce back from an injury-plagued campaign last season may have worked against him. Eto'o, without permission from Barca fitness staff, worked privately in Mallorca before preseason kicked off on his stamina.

The Cameroon ace was well ahead of the rest of the squad during the tour of Scotland, but it's been suggested the groin injury suffered against Inter Milan last week could've been caused by muscle fatigue due to overextending himself in Mallorca.
