Barcelona winger Pedro was thrilled for Lionel Messi over his five-goal performance in victory over Bayer Leverkusen.

Messi was at his best in the Champions League rout.

"It is a pleasure and a privilege to play with him, to have him on our side, he is great as a player and personally, I was overjoyed by these goals and we are happy with his form," said Pedro.

On his relationship with the Nou Camp crowd, Pedro added: "They have a soft spot with me and I do not know how I can thank him, working and running, thanking them for the great affection shown to me after I went through difficult time this year."
