Barcelona are willing to offer Yaya Toure to Liverpool in exchange for midfielder Xabi Alonso. The Daily Mail says Alonso was close to joining Juventus during the summer and Anfield manager Rafa Benitez sees the tough-tackling Toure, 25, as an ideal January recruit.

Alonso would be following in his father's footsteps if he joins the Catalan club.

Periko Alonso was a midfielder who played for Barcelona alongside Diego Maradona and won La Liga there in 1985.
