Barcelona WILL make beat-the-deadline bid for Man Utd ace Pogba

Barcelona will test Manchester United's resolve this week with an offer for Paul Pogba.

Despite there being no chance of United finding a replacement, Barca will move for the France midfielder before Friday's deadline, reports AS.

Once Rafinha's departure is confirmed, with Real Betis and Benfica both in talks about a €30m deal, Barca will turn to United and make an offer for their No6.

It emerged over the weekend that Barca were prepared to offer €160m for Pogba earlier this summer - though rejected United's demand that Ivan Rakitic be included in their proposal.

It's been suggested this week's bid, while likely to be rejected, will be used to encourage Pogba and agent Mino Raiola to keep the pressure on United leading up to the January market.

Unlike Premier League clubs, Barca are happy to do business midseason and paid €140m to Liverpool for Philippe Coutinho last season using similar negotiating tactics.
