Barcelona are watching Mauro Icardi's progress at Sampdoria.

Sport says Barca chiefs have been alerted to Icardi's success in Italy, having sold the Argentine to Samp two years ago.

Icardi has wowed Samp coaches in the primavera setup and was influential in their promotion from Serie B last season. He played on the weekend and scored twice in Samp's 6-0 friendly win over Lucento.
