Barcelona turn to two Bundesliga stars to rescue their summer market

Barcelona are turning to the Bundesliga to rescue their summer market.

Facing frustration in their pursuit of Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund attacker Ousmane Dembele, Barca are turning to two Germany internationals.

Diario Sport says Barca are ready to bid for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl and Schalke's Leon Goretzka.

Both players are rated in the €40m class by their respective clubs.

Barca have been locked in talks with BVB about Weigl's teammate Dembele, but their €150m asking price has proved prohibitive.

Instead, the Catalans hope to close deals for Weigl and Goretzka for more realistic valuations in the coming weeks.
