Barcelona are ready to bid for Sevilla winger Diego Capel.

After seeing David Silva commit to a new Valencia contract last week, Barca coach Pep Guardiola has switched sights to prising Capel away from Sevilla.

"The door isn't closed," admitted Barca sports chief Txiki Begiristain last night when quizzed about new signings.

Capel actually came through Barca's junior system before moving to Sevilla and his contract carries a £12 million buyout clause.
