Barcelona tracking Rangers star Bougherra

According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra is on the radar of Spanish giants Barcelona.

The 27 year old is on a list of names drawn up by Txiki Begiristain, sporting director of the European champions.

Barca boss Pep Guardiola was given DVDs of Bougherra in action by Begiristain to study.

Any move to the Nou Camp could hinge on Begiristain's long-term future at the club.

The Ibrox stopper is the newly-crowned Arabian Player of the Year, having helped Gers to the double last season and inspired Algeria to the World Cup Finals.

Sources in both Spain and Algeria have confirmed Barca's interest in Bougherra.
