Barcelona title failure hits Arsenal finances

Arsenal have missed out on a windfall thanks to Barcelona's failure this season.

Marca says Barca, after failing to win the Champions League and Spanish Liga titles, saved over €10 million in various bonuses due to Arsenal and Udinese for their signings of Cesc Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez respectively.

Along with the €34 million paid to Arsenal for Cesc, another €6 million would be due if they won two Liga titles in the next five seasons and the Champions League in the first three. But with neither title won this term, no extra money will be going to the Gunners.
