Barcelona are willing to rundown the clock over their pursuit of Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas. The Daily Mail says Barcelona have warned Arsenal that they are prepared to hold out until the last minute if necessary to sign Fabregas.
The Gunners face the prospect of having to overhaul their first team this summer with Fabregas and Samir Nasri likely to leave, and with Gael Clichy already having departed for Manchester City.
The continued uncertainty over Fabregas's future leaves boss Arsene Wenger unsure whether to invest in a direct replacement, and without the cash from any sale to spend. But vice-president Josep Bartomeu said that his club are prepared to sit it out and wait until transfer deadline day to get the best possible deal.
The long-running saga over the Spaniard's move back to his boyhood club still shows no signs of a conclusion, with the two clubs desperately haggling over a fee.
Bartomeu said: "The experience of the last few years and of last season shows us that we have right up until the last minute before the season starts [to sign players].
"We made signings very late last season. We have the best team in the world so we can afford to be patient. There is no rush, we have until the last moment."
