Barcelona are threatening Real Madrid's deal for Werder Bremen midfielder Mesut Ozil. With less than a year to run on his contract, Werder are seeking to cash in now and are in talks with Real over a €15 million sale.
However, Marca says Barca's failure to prise Cesc Fabregas away from Arsenal has led them to the negotiating table for Ozil.
Werder management are delighted, as they're hoping for an auction between the Spanish rivals to drive up the player's asking price.
Ozil was in Spain last week and is understood to have spent time in both Barcelona and Madrid with his family.
