Barcelona vice-president Albert Vicens has denied Sunday press reports that he's driving negotiations over a deal for Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.

Currently on holiday in Ibiza, Vicens told DiarioSport that he was surprised by the reports and insists no talks have taken place regarding a move for Lampard.

Vicens also insisted that they wouldn't hold talks over a potential January arrival for Lampard because "it's halfway through the season and January is only used for emergency signings in case of injury or team deficiencies".
