Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer has welcomed the arrival of new coach Ernesto Valverde.

Valverde stepped in to replace Luis Enrique at the end of last season.

Alcacer said, "He is a great coach who can fit Barcelona perfectly. The style of play will remain the same and he will bring positive things. You will find a team that welcomes new people very well. It will help us achieve the goals."

On Luis Enrique, he also told Marca: "If the coach does not love you, you are not in the club. He wanted me to be a key piece to sign for Barcelona. I really appreciated it and also all the conversations with me and facing the press when the goal did not arrive.

"I was encouraged to keep working and to be myself, because in the end if I was in Barcelona it was because of how I was playing before."
