Barcelona striker Keirrison insists he turned down other loan offers to sign with Benfica last week.

The 20 year-old former Palmeiras striker will spend next season on-loan with Benfica and revealed: "Let me just clarify that when I learned of Benfica, I dropped the bids from other European clubs.

"This is a club with a proud history, and I have often seen lots of Portuguese Championship games in Brazil.

"It's a club to accumulate experience with in Europe so I can eventually play well for Barcelona."
