Barcelona sports chief Txiki Begiristain has stepped up negotiations with the representatives of Valencia midfielder David Silva.

Begiristain is keen to add quality width to Pep Guardiola's midfield next season and Silva is high on his agenda, says DiarioSport.

Silva's buyout clause is £12 million, though Barca are confident of talking down that figure with Valencia desperate to balance the books during this summer's market.
