Recent reports have suggested that Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez has been pondering an offer from MLS club New York Red Bulls.
With the winter transfer window bringing plenty of rumours, the 33-year old is being heavily linked with a possible shift across the Atlantic, but a MLS source told the NY Post that the Spain international is likely to remain at the Nou Camp for the time being.
"He's a wonderful player and a great person. Of course [they] would love to see him at New York Red Bulls," the league source said.
"But he is under contract at FC Barcelona for the foreseeable future, so it is a hypothetical discussion."
Xavi recently signed a new deal that will keep him with the Catalan giants until the summer of 2016.
