Barcelona star Messi "hurt" by Argentina criticism
Barcelona star Lionel Messi admits criticism over his performances for Argentina do hurt him.
Messi was speaking with TIME magazine and confessed the barbs aimed at him on the international stage do sting.
"It hurts and bothers me. They said things that were not true. Now, I think they understand that football is a team game and I try to play the same way as I do with Barcelona.
"I've never ceased to be Argentine and I've never wanted to. I am very proud of my country. Barcelona is my home because they gave me everything but I will always be Argentine."
