Barcelona captain Carles Puyol admits he could retire from international football after the World Cup.

Puyol has made 80 appearances for Spain after debuting in 2001.

The defender said: "It's possible that the World Cup in South Africa is my last appointment with the national team, I'm getting old and there are already quality defenders.

"I will speak with the coach and Fernando Hierro and we'll see what choice to make. "
