Barcelona signing David Villa admits he could easily have joined eternal rivals Real Madrid.
Villa joined Barca before the World Cup from Valencia in a £31 million switch.
He revealed yesterday: "In the past I had been followed by Real Madrid and nothing could be done because Valencia would not sell cheaply.
"Anyway, I'm happy to go to Barcelona because it is like continuing my adventure with the national team.
"We play with the same style and almost the same players!"
