Barcelona signing Arthur Melo is confident the fans will enjoy his style of play.

The 21-year-old from Gremio has no experience of European football but is not intimidated.

“Barca fans will like my game," said Arthur. “Barca's style is unique and it's hard to find players that have not grown at La Masia who adapt, but my technical characteristics are similar to some players at Barca, because I like to have the ball, short passes and control the rhythm from the centre of the pitch."

In that sense Xavi and Iniesta are his 'mirrors'.

“They are two great reference points for me. Xavi is whom I most seem like. For me he's a reference point, not just for what he did on the pitch."

However he added that “Messi is the best in the world and to play with him makes me happy. I want to learn from my team-mates who are great figures. All the players in the world want to play for Barca and with this signing it feels like my effort has been worth it."
