Barcelona have entered into a strategic sponsorship with Egyptian bank Emirates NBD Egypt until 2020, with the option of a two-year extension, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

Under the terms of the regional sponsorship agreement, the two parties will work together to create a bespoke Barcelona credit card, which will provide Emirates NBD Egypt's customers with additional benefits such as match tickets and entry to Barça-related competitions.

"We are very pleased that such a prestigious bank in the region as Emirates NBD has thought of forming an association with FC Barcelona," said Silvio Elías, economic vice president of Barcelona.

"This three-year partnership will reaffirm the club's growth in emerging markets and we are sure that Barça's fanbase in Egypt will continue to grow thanks to our association with the bank".

Fuad Mohamed, chief operating officer of Emirates NBD Egyp, added: "We are very pleased to have signed this sponsorship agreement with one of the world's leading football teams. This deal forms part of our aim to promote financial inclusion in our country. It is a new opportunity to introduce innovative services for our customers from all parts of society."
