Barcelona's senior players want Frank Rijkaard to replace coach Luis Enrique.TV3 says the Barcelona dressing room have suggested to president Josep Maria Bartomeu that Rijkaard could return to the club as sporting director, to then take over from Luis Enrique when the president, who has lost confidence in the current coach, finally decides to replace him.

Rijkaard was coach at the Camp Nou from 2003 to 2008 and had several current big names under him during that spell. He won two Liga titles, a Champions League and two Spanish Supercups.

However, the former coach's circle have let it be known that Rijkaard has no intention of accepting a role with so much responsibility on what appears to be a short term basis.
