Barcelona have called for the media to stop asking Pep Guardiola about his contract situation.

In a call which will send Arsenal fans into fits of laughter, Barca spokesman Toni Freixa says Guardiola, who has been linked with Inter Milan, Chelsea, Manchester United and the Gunners this season, should be allowed to work in peace.

"What Guardiola asks for is understandable and he should be allowed to work in peace," the Barca spokesman told 8TV.

"It is normal for someone who has spent four years at the highest level to need to think about things like this."

Gooners will surely be asking why Barca couldn't have done the same this time last season regarding Cesc Fabregas.
